           The picture below has a combinition of letters and drawings done by an Emergent Writer. At this stage student can tell a story from their drawing. The above is a diagram of the steps in the writing process.  "The Writing Process"       In our LIT102  class, one of the topics discussed was the writing process. It involves a series of five (5) steps that students can use in order to produce a finished piece of writing.  It is fascinating to learn that these steps are recursive, for example, a student can be at the revising stage and return to the prewriting stage to develop and expand on their ideas.   It is important that I  model and allow students to practice these steps in order to help them become excellent writers.      As we went through the writing process, I was able to gain clarity on activities that should take place at different stages.
